December events at The Creative Cafe

It is hard to believe that December is already here and Christmas is just around the corner!!! We have some nice events this month that allow you to make something special for someone and buy other handmade products from local artists.

Glühwein & Gingerbread Saturdays To help take the chill off on the cold winter days, we will be offering Glühwein and gingerbread every Saturday in December (5.12, 12.12 & 19.12)! We look forward to welcoming you and helping you find the perfect handmade gift for your Christmas needs. Pop Up Sale with Dennis Camara: Wed., 9 December from 9:30-12:00 & Thur., 10 December from 10:00-16:00 Dennise Camara will be with us for 2 days (Wednesday morning and 10-16 on Thursday) and will be selling her beautiful handmade jewelry, bookmarks and more. You will be sure to find a beautiful gift for a teacher, friend or loved one! Art Club Café Every Friday: 9:00-11:00 & 11:30-13:30 Looking for a way to release some of your creative energy or maybe learn something new? CHRISTMAS HOLIDAYS: SHOP WILL BE CLOSED 22.12.15 - 08.01.2016  The Creative Café will be closed from 22 December - 8 January in order to spend time with our families for the holidays. November Events at The Creative Café

November will be an exciting month at The Creative Café! We have pop up sales, workshops and a jump start to the holiday season with our Christmas Open House on 21 November! Be sure to mark your calendar for the events below!!

Pop up sale with Carolin Schirmeisen
3-5 November (Mornings from 9:30 to 12:00)

 

Carolin Schirmeisen will be in The Creative Café for three mornings to show you how she creates her beautiful felted wool shawls using the nuno felting technique. She will also have a selection of her unique, individually designed shawls available for sale. What a great Christmas present this could be for a friend or loved one!

This workshop will help you make four beautiful hand-stamped Christmas cards and 4-5 gift tags for your Christmas giving. Instruction and all materials to make the above cards are provided in the course fee. Registration required by Tuesday, 17 November.

Christmas Open House

Are you looking for a special, handmade gift for Christmas? Grab a friend and stop by The Creative Café to get a head start to your Advent and Christmas shopping! We will demonstrate simple stamping techniques and gift wrapping ideas, and will have homemade goodies, Glühwein, and crepes to give you more energy for shopping. And, of course, we will have a selection of handmade products, paper and stamping supplies and block-print textiles to meet your Christmas needs.

We will also have a special gift for purchases over CHF 50!

Pop Up Sale with Sandra Ritter!
Thursday, 26 November 9:30-16:00

Sandra Ritter will be in The Creative Café for the day and will be selling some of her adorable handmade clipboards, witty block signs and various other Christmas and Advent products.

These make great stocking stuffers and little gifts for friends, teachers and children!

We are excited about all of these amazing events and look forward to seeing you at one of them!!

Fall is here!

The trees are changing colors, the days are getting shorter and before we know it, the holidays will be upon us!!! However, before we start thinking about Christmas, October is a celebration month in The Creative Café as INDesign4U is 1 year old!

As a thank you for your continued support, you will receive a free gift with purchase(s) or placing an order worth CHF 100 or more. And, if you order curtains, hemming will be free (a value of CHF 7 per curtain)! Additionally, you can stop by for a glass of bubbly on the following Wednesday afternoons in October.

FALL HOLIDAYS:

The Creative Café will be closed from 10-17 October. We look forward to welcoming you back on Tuesday, 20 October!

OCTOBER WORKSHOPS:

Canvas Art Workshop 

Thursday, 22 October from 9:00-12:00

This workshop is a great way to learn the art of mixed media! All materials and instruction will be provided to show you how to create a unique canvas using paper, paint, washi tapes, stickers and more! Workshop will be taught by Barbara Nigg.

Space is limited to 6 people (minimum required is 4) and registration is required by 20 October.

Cost: CHF 48 per person

Open Project Morning

Last Wednesday of the month, 9:00-12:00

Get inspired to finish that project that has been sitting in your closet (or under the bed, or in the corner...)! Join us for a coffee, inspiration and ideas to help you tick a project off of your "to do" list.

INDesign4U: Upcoming events

We have a busy month in The Creative Café! In addition to our Party Decor Ladies Night Out this coming Friday, INDesign4U will have a special guest in the shop this Saturday afternoon, 19 September.

Come and meet Sonali Kapoor, the lady behind all the beautiful and unique textile designs that INDesign4U offers. Sonali is visiting from India and will spend the afternoon (13:00-16:00) in The Creative Café showing some of the original wooden blocks used in her production and tell the story behind the products. Be one of the first 20 visitors and receive a special gift from Sonali! 

If you cannot make it on Saturday, Nina will be having an open house in The Creative Café on Wednesday morning, 23 September, from 9:30-12:00. Stop by to have a coffee and browse the beautiful block printed textiles from INDesign4U!

Back to school...and to work!

We hope you had a WONDERFUL summer and have had a great start back to school and work! We enjoyed our little break this summer and are now full of energy and ideas for the fall and winter season!

The Creative Café is open once again and filled with unique, handmade products, textiles, cards and stamping supplies. Open Project Morning Tomorrow!

Have a project you can't get around to finishing? Feeling uninspired? Stop by the Creative Cafe tomorrow (Wednesday 24 June) for our open project morning from 9am - 12pm. Bring along your unfinished project and the supplies you need and enjoy the company of other like-minded crafty individuals. We will have some basic paper crafting supplies available, but any sort of project is more than welcome - sewing, knitting, scrapbooking, etc.

Hope to see you in the morning for some coffee and crafting!

INDesign4U is new to the Creative Café team!

We would like to welcome Nina Zetterberg, founder of INDesign4U, to our Creative Café team!

INDesign4U offers beautiful and unique products made by hand in India. Nina fell in love with the designs of India during her 2,5 year stay in the exotic and intoxicating country. INDesign4U focuses mainly on block printed products for home decoration - rugs, curtains, table linen and cushion covers. The textiles are inspired by India, but also have an international touch, which makes them appeal to most of us. The uniqueness doesn't only lie in the fact that everything is handmade, but also that you can combine colours and patterns to create your own, special look.
